Custom Thermal Spray Enclosures and Acoustical Rooms

Thermal spray processes generate significant noise and airborne particulate. Our custom thermal spray enclosures address both problems in a single, engineered system. Each structure is designed to reduce the high noise levels produced during spraying to an acceptable 85 dBA, protecting operators and keeping your facility within OSHA exposure limits.

Our acoustical rooms are assembled from modular panels and joiners, making them highly flexible in design and layout. Panels feature high-quality acoustical fill with perforated steel inner surfaces for superior sound absorption. Standard spray-room ceiling heights are available in 8 ft. (2.1 m) or 10 ft. (3.1 m), with panels offered in a range of sizes. Custom dimensions are supplied as needed to fit your floor plan and equipment setup.

The modular construction of these industrial spray booth enclosure systems allows for minimal assembly time and easy relocation if your production needs change. Operator access is handled through double-leaf, magnetic-seal, cam-lift doors. The cam-lift hinge design raises the door as it opens and lowers it as it closes, eliminating the need for a traffic-hindering doorsill while maintaining a tight acoustical seal at the floor to prevent sound leaks.

Dust Collection and Air Management

All thermal spray processes generate dust, and a properly sized dust control system is required for safe, compliant operations. Our enclosures are typically paired with dust collection systems to capture oversprayed material and maintain air quality inside the booth. Make-up air entering the acoustical spray room is filtered through an air inlet silencer, sized to match the dust collector's air volume. These silencers are designed for reverse flow conditions, where sound waves and air travel in opposing directions, ensuring effective noise attenuation even during active ventilation. The addition of robotics to the thermal spray process has greatly improved repeatability, accuracy, and coating quality.
