Thermal Spray Wires & Arc Spray Wires Distributor

Arc Spray Wires

Astro Alloys offers and stocks a wide array of Polymet and TAFA® thermal spray wires, including arc spray wires. From traditional metal and metal alloys to complex cored wire compositions, we have what it takes to handle your arc spray wire applications. Proud of our role as a leading thermal spray wire distributor, we continue to develop and refine thermal spray wires of all types, solid or cored, soft or hard, to help you take full advantage of the exceptional value arc spray provides.

TAFA® Arc Spray Wires

TAFA® arc spray wires are tested and analyzed to ensure they offer the proper tensile strength, hardness, and surface finish properties for thermal spraying. Our commitment as an arc spray wire distributor ensures you get it right every time. TAFA wires are engineered and manufactured exclusively for thermal spray. Strict specifications and production controls guarantee that each wire is manufactured to a precise metallurgical composition and free from defects such as slivers or contaminants.

Cored Wire Applications

All thermal spray wires are made to tight compositional tolerances, have the appropriate surface finish, and be spooled properly for consistent performance. Advanced material engineering of cored wires allows compositions that cannot be drawn as solid wires to be produced by enclosing powders in a metallic sheath. The application of cored wire technology has resulted in arc spray coatings replacing plasma coatings for many aircraft engine repairs and industrial wear applications.

Care is taken to ensure that the thermal spray wires have proper physical properties for thermal spraying, such as:

  • Tensile strength
  • Hardness
  • Surface Finish
  • Corrosion Resistance
  • Hard Surface Wear Resistance

Thermal Spray Wire Materials

Some of the common thermal spray materials we offer include:

  • Aluminum
  • Zinc
  • Iron based alloys
  • Copper
  • Nickel
  • Inconels
  • Carbon Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Nickel & Aluminum bond wires

Industries Served

The value of thermal spray wires shows up across industries where performance and reliability matter most. From extending the life of automotive parts and aerospace components to protecting equipment in oil & gas, power generation, and medical manufacturing, these coatings keep critical systems running longer and with less maintenance.

Because every industry faces its own set of challenges, we take the time to understand your goals and connect you with wires that meet the demands of your environment. That means whether you're repairing turbine blades, coating medical instruments, or reinforcing mining equipment, you'll have a partner who knows what works in your world.

Exceptional Wires For Superior Coatings

Whether your application calls for a reliable bond coat, dimensional restoration, or resistance to wear and corrosion, Astro Alloys carries a wire to meet that challenge. Strict specifications and production controls guarantee that each wire is manufactured to a precise metallurgical composition and free from defects such as slivers or contaminants. Post manufacturing testing and analysis assure that the targeted characteristics are achieved. Contact Astro Alloys today for more information on our thermal spray wires!
