Nickel Based Thermal Spray Powders

Astro Alloys offers a selection of nickel-based powders from Praxair. Nickel Powders have a distinguished history of alloys with high, medium and low hardness ranges specifically designed to serve a broad scope of industrial applications. With the addition of Chromium, Silicon, Boron, Moly, Carbon, and Carbides they form extremely hard ware resistant phases which protect carbon steels and stainless steel components from the most severe environments of erosion, corrosion and high temperature. Nickel alloys have been used extensively in the oilfield to protect drilling components from extremely abrasive drilling conditions. Aircraft and land-based turbines also use a wide variety of Nickel Alloys to enhance the strength and corrosion resistance of critical rotating and stationary components. Industrial pumps utilize Nickel Alloys to protect them from fine particle erosion and corrosive wear

Applications for Nickel Alloy Powders:

The below applications rely on nickel alloy coatings to enhance their performance and extend ware life dramatically:

  • Gate Valves
  • Positive Displacement  & Down hole pump plungers
  • Sucker Rod Couplings
  • BOP Rams
  • Operating Pistons
  • Choke and Kill Pins
  • Mud Motor Rotor
  • Centrifugal Pump Sleeves and Shafts
  • Compressor Rods
